What is ASBA and how do I join?

The Association of School Business Administrators Limited represents associations of business administrators who are employed in non-government schools throughout Australia and New Zealand.

ASBA Ltd is made up of eight regionally-based incorporated associations, or Chapters, in the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, New Zealand, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia.

Our Chapters collectively have more than 1100 members and each Chapter appoints two Directors to the Board of ASBA Ltd. The role of Board Chairman rotates through the 8 Chapters, usually in line with who is hosting ASBA’s next biennial conference.

ASBA’s standing committees include the Professional Development Committee, Financial Survey Committee, Salary Survey Committee, Website Committee, isb Committee, and Conference Committees.

Various national and international organisations have links and strategic alliances with ASBA Ltd, or its Chapters

Our Aims

ASBA is Australasia’s leading organisation for advancing school business management by:

  • Inspiring school business administrators to promote excellence in education through excellent business practice
  • Offering members professional development opportunities – including conferences for regional Chapters, a biennial national ASBA conference, a variety of surveys and a professional isb magazine – to promote high standards of business management in our schools
  • Enabling members to support each other through an interactive web bulletin board
  • Creating collegial networks of business administrators locally, regionally, nationally and internationally
  • Providing a national forum for ASBA Directors
  • Advising and informing national educational bodies about with school business management
  • Recognising outstanding contributions of Chapters and their members
