President's Message

Welcome to the ASBA N.Z. (Inc) webpage. As an association, representing senior business leaders in the independent school sector in New Zealand, we work closely with Independent Schools of New Zealand (ISA), The Independent Schools Association (ISNZ) and the Association of Heads of Independent Schools in New Zealand (AHIS). ASBA NZ (Inc) elects two directors to the board of ASBA Ltd, the Australasian umbrella body for the non-government school sector.

The New Zealand association will be hosting the biennial ASBA Ltd conference in Christchurch, from 18-21 July. This will be the first time that this conference has been held in New Zealand and we welcome you to our conference website, www.conferenceteam.co.nz/asba

The role of ASBA (N.Z.) Inc. is to provide:

• Executive management business support to ISNZ and member schools;

• Professional development opportunities;

• An active mentoring network.

Annual Objectives:

• Identify and support new members;

• Provide at least two collective professional development opportunities per annum;

• Provide ongoing membership support to ASBA Limited;

• Encourage support of individual professional development opportunities via the Noel Fitzpatrick Study Award.

• Remain financially viable;

The association usually meets for a one day conference in Wellington, October each year and a two day conference prior to the ISNZ Conference held on a rotation in the main cities of NZ, usually in May of each year.

In addition member Schools provide a network of regional groups providing exchange of information of mutual interest. Collegiality with Australian member schools is encouraged.
